Elmer E. Thomas Peoria- Elmer E. Thomas, 63, born August 17, 1948, died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He succumbed to a lengthy illness at 4:06 am. Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by his father, William “Buzz” Thomas, Sr.; his stepmother, Gloria Thomas, who reared him in Bloomington, IL; two brothers, William “Buzzie” Thomas, Jr. and Dennis “Denny Boy” Brown; and one sister, Sandra Taylor. Surviving Mr. Thomas are his three sisters, Joyce Anny Curry of Arizona, Willis B. Bailey of Kansas, and Renee E. Branton of Bloomington; six brothers, Dickie (Pamela) Taylor of Bloomington, John (Melissa) Thomas of Michigan, Michael and his wife of Alabama, Louis (Myrna) Sykes of Peoria, Lemar Brown of Decatur, Stanley Taylor of Washington State; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and a large host of friends joining his family as they mourn this loss. Cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no memorial services. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is handling arrangements for the family.
