Martha Jane Donnelly BLOOMINGTON- Martha Jane “Granny” Donnelly, 90, of Bloomington, passed away at 1:36 pm on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at her home. She was born July 6, 1921 in Clarence, MO, a daughter of Ruben and Eva Odessa Ellis Enyard. She married Raymond Romaine Donnelly on October 23, 1939 in Clarence, MO. He survives. Also surviving are her children, Modelle (Howard) Robinson of Li City, MO, Barbara Jackson, Irving, TX, Raymond (Darlene) Donnelly of West Peoria, IL, Betty Lewis of Bloomington, Jesse (Yvonne) Donnelly of Bloomington, Eva (Ted) Lasley of Bloomington, Curtis (Sandra) Donnelly of Richmond Hills, TX, Carol (Charles) Kitchen of Huntsville, MO, Beverly (Bill) Menken of Bloomington, Marian Lee of Atlanta, GA, Janice (Marvin) Jackson of Springfield, IL, and Donna Donnelly of Normal; and a host of grand, great, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Spencer; one son, Harold Donnelly; one grandson, Jon Donnelly; and two son-in-laws, Charles Lewis and Joe Bob Spencer. She’s asleep now waiting for the New Order. She was surrounded by all her children, as well as long time friends. She was known to all as “Granny”. She was a dedicated member of Jehovah’s Witnesses since November 1971. She left behind a host of grand, great, and great-great grandchildren. She is greatly missed by all that knew her. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1213 E. Emerson Street Bloomington, IL. Visitation will be from 1:00-1:30 pm prior to the service. Cremation rites will be accorded. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is handling arrangements for the family.     I am so sorry to hear about the death of your mom, I worked with her at General Telephone and had lunch with her every day along with LaVonne Matthews and Julie Shear. She was the nicest lady anyone would want to meet, she was fun, kind and just a lovely person. After we both quit General Telephone I use to see her from time to time, and also one of her daughters use to come to my garage sales often. Your mom told me something once that always stayed on my mind; the fact that when she graduated grade school there was no school bus service to her neighborhood that allowed her to go to High School. Her teacher even made her repeat 8th grade doing 9th grade work hoping that the school board would have the bus service in the near future with no avail.     To the Donnelly Family: I wish to send my deepest sympathy and regards for lost of your Mother, Sis. Donnelly. You may remember me as the young Brother (at that time) who played the piano. I always thought so much of your Mom and Dad. Jehovah will certainly remember her loyalty and faithfulness. Not long from now we will all see her again in God's New World. Until that time may each of you take comfort from the promise, "He will call, and Martha shall answer." (Job 14:14, 15)
