Kenneth C. Cunningham

Minonk- Kenneth C. Cunningham, 89, of Minonk, IL passed away at 5:23 pm on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the LaSalle Veteran's Home where he had been a resident.

He was born on May 10, 1922 in Minonk, IL a son of Noble and Louise Funk Cunningham. He married Lucile Rossman on February 26, 1949 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minonk. She passed away on August 24, 2011.

Surviving are one son, Fr. Lloyd Cunningham, SVD, Psy D. of Techny, IL; two daughters, Linda (Mitch) Napieralski of Gilbert, AZ; Ann (Ted) Groeneveld of Valdez, AK; three grandchildren, Morgan Napieralski, Kiefer Groeneveld, Shey Groeneveld, one sister, Marjorie Kettwich of Minonk, IL; three brothers, Duane (Ivanelle) Cunningham of Minonk, IL; William (Ruth) Cunningham of Lexington, IL; Gene (Elaine) Cunningham of Minonk, IL; one sister-in-law Donna Cunningham of Washington, IL; and one aunt, Zelda Garrett of Springfield, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother, Delmar Cunningham.

Kenneth was a lifelong farmer and also worked for the ASC Office where he measured land.

An Army veteran, he served his country in North Africa and Central Europe during WWII and was a member of the Minonk American Legion Post #142.

He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and the Holy Name Society at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 21, 2011 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minonk. Fr. Lloyd Cunningham, SVD Psy D. will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is handling the arrangements. Burial will follow the services at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded.
