Louis was born on August 26, 1915 in Albert, KS a son of Conrad and Anna (Rients) Miller. On July 29, 1940 he married Lorene K. Tesch in St. Louis, MO and she survives.

In addition to his wife Lorene, Louis is survived by his five children: Norman (Pauline) Miller of Tomball, TX, Nancy (Barry) Kolb of Texarkana, TX, Betty (Chuck) Stinnett of Lodi, CA, Dale (Susan) Miller of Bellevue, NE, and Judy (Ron) Glenn of Bloomington. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Perry (Jaylene)  Miller, Patti (Bruce) Brownfield, Cori (Joshua) Perdue, Eric (Sheryl) Kolb, Terri Kolb, Sara (Jerry) Hagen, Wendy (Christian) Ledesma, Lora Glenn, and Brendon Glenn, nine great-grand sons, and one brother John Miller of Albert, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Abbie, Eddie, Martin, Eilt, and Carl all of Kansas; and one sister, Tina Marshall of Flanagan, IL.

Louis loved Jesus, his family, his church, and his work.  In all circumstances, he was gracious and gentle-natured, offering a warm smile to all he met.

Louis was a master carpenter and craftsman.  He owned Miller Cabinet Shop for 35 years, retiring at age 72.  As a small businessman, he was known for his honesty, integrity, attention to detail, and creative kitchen designs.  He was a member of the carpenters union for 70 years.

Louis was a committed Christian and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1949. He served on the school board and as an elder.  He founded the Church Worker's Scholarship Fund.  From age 75 to 90, he enjoyed caring for toddlers and preschoolers in their home while the mothers had a weekly Bible study.

He was a loving husband, father, grand-father and great-grandfather.  Louis will be greatly missed but the family rejoices in his heavenly home-coming and the legacy of faith he leaves us.

The family is grateful for the loving care that he received while at Sugar Creek Alzheimer's Center and Martin Health Care Center.

Dear Lorene, Nancy, Barry and family, our hearts are heavy for you as you prepare to say goodbye to your mate and father. How wonderful tho, that "we do not grieve as those who have no hope..." (1 Thess.), so I know there is joy in your hearts as well. Your husband and dad loved Jesus and knew Him as his Savior, as you also know Him... so this is only a temporary parting until that beautiful reunion w/him in heaven. We pray that truth and your lovely memories comfort you in the coming days and months. w/love, Jay and Libby

Your talent as a wood worker as well as a solid Christian man offered my life direction as a young man. My path in this life at the age of 15 was certainly influenced by you! I am forever grateful and must thank our dear Lord Jesus for the Miller household and previous cabinet shop experience. Enjoy Heaven my friend and former Boss! This concludes my apprenticeship!
