Paul "Butch" Fey Sr. entered Heaven's Gates at 11:28 AM on Monday, February 4, 2013 at OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, Illinois.

Butch was born on February 23, 1944 in Bloomington, Illinois the son of the late Paul and Ruby (Corbin) Fey and had attained the age of 68 years. He married his high school sweetheart, Maxine Ewert on May 11, 1964 in Normal, Illinois and she survives.

Mr. Fey worked as a self-employed painter for many years. He was a member of the Secor Sportsman's Club in Secor and he enjoyed numerous outdoor activities such as fishing, camping and four wheeling in the mountains. He was an avid arrowhead collector, enjoyed making jewelry, playing guitar and writing music and was known as a fantastic storyteller. Butch enjoyed spending time with his family. Butch's lifelong wish was that when he departed this life he would have his tennis shoes on so that he could run to Heaven. That wish was granted on Monday.

Butch proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1961-1965.

In addition to his wife Maxine, Butch is survived by his children, Rhonda and her husband Donnie Novak of Chesapeake, Virginia; Wanda and her husband Kenny Kuhles of Hoopeston, Illinois; Paul and his wife Heather Fey of Gridley, Illinois; Michael and his wife Jada Fey of Manchester, Missouri; Seven grandchildren, Kadie, Karie, Kamie, Izabella, Joseph, Zhenya, Nina;  a sister, Norma and her husband David Edwards of Pinetop, Arizona and by a  brother, Corbin Cole of Kingman, Arizona. In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by a dear friend and cousin, Corky Pickens.

In accordance with Mr. Fey's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Butch's Life will be held from 12-4 PM on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Secor Community Center in Secor, Illinois. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Secor Fire Department. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home of El Paso, Illinois is assisting the family of Butch Fey.
