Russell E. Eilts

 

Minonk- Russell E. Eilts, 72, of Florence, KY formerly of Minonk, IL passed away at 4:40 am on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY.

 

He was born on March 11, 1939 in Pontiac, IL a son of Lester B. and Viola E. May Eilts. He married Donna R. Reed on January 22, 1961 in Minonk, IL. She passed away on March 29, 2011.

 

Surviving are two daughters, Arlene (Steve) Stricker of Florence, KY; Julie Eilts of St. Louis Park, MN; and two grandchildren, Aaron and Rhiannon.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one infant sister, Elaine Mae.

 

Russell worked as a custodian at MDR High School now known as Fieldcrest for approximately 27 years. He was a tenant farmer in the Rutland and Toluca areas and had been employed at the Mennonite Hospital in Bloomington, IL.

 

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk, IL. Pastor Richard Olson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10-11 am before the service on Thursday.
