Walter R. Stephens
Carlock- Walter R. Stephens, 62, of Carlock, passed away on
Thursday, November 17, 2011at 1:45 pm at his residence. Funeral
services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2011
at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington with Pastor Thomas
Wirsing officiating. Interment will be at Imhoff Cemetery in
Congerville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011
from 4 to7 pm at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington
and one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. In
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American
Heart Association or to Trinity Lutheran Church in Walter's name.

Walter was born on September 18, 1949 in Normal, IL a son of
Walter C. And Betty S. (Siebert) Stephens.
Surviving from his marriage to Diane Kathleen Lock are two
daughters: Tina A. (Dan) Graeser of Decatur, IL and Tami Jo (Robert
Hentschelmann) Stephens of Colorado Springs, CO; two Grandchildren:
Brookelyn Cowger, and Amanda Lynn Graeser ; also surviving are his
siblings: Gerald L. Stephens of Carlock, Mark M. (Willete) Stephens
of Normal, William E. Stephens of Eureka, Lisa J. Stephens of
Carlock, David A. (Tammy) Stephens of Heyworth, and Daniel W.
(Sheri) Stephens of Congerville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Walter graduated from Eureka High School then attended
Illinois Central College. He worked for NAPA Automotive Stores in
Morton, IL as a store manager. He started with NAPA delivering
parts and worked his way up to store manager retiring in September
of this year after forty years of service.
The love of Walter's life was his daughter's and
grandchildren, his life revolved around his family. He also worked
many long hours at NAPA which he was very devoted to. Walter was an
avid Sci-Fi fan and enjoyed exploring new advances in
technology.
With love and respect, his five brothers and one cousin will serve
as pallbearers for Walter.
He will be sadly missed by his friends and family.
