Anna J. “Loretta” Forrest, 75, of Lacon Illinois, formerly Henry Illinois, died on April 29, 2022 at her residence. Born on July 5, 1947 in Samantha OH to the late James and Hazel (Oppy) Holt, she married Harvey Forrest and had three children.
Loretta was a CNA for many years serving over 15 years at Saint Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon and over 15 years at Asta Care in Toluca.
So many lives have been touched by Loretta; from a doting CNA, to a beautician, to a loving sister, mother, aunt and grandmother.
She had many hobbies that she enjoyed. No stranger to the kitchen, she loved to cook and bake. So many of her recipes will live on through her family members.
In addition to cooking, Loretta loved traveling and site seeing. She was always up for a road trip, scenic drive, or a family filled weekend of camping. At least one trip each summer was planned to travel to her home state of Ohio for a family reunion.
Loretta enjoyed many other things in life including tending to her flowers and watching hummingbirds at her manner feeders.
But first and foremost, she would have said her family was by far her greatest asset.
Loretta is survived by her children Kathy (Ron) Hilliard of Toulon, Theron (Amanda) Forrest of Henry, Brian (Jennifer) Forrest of Normal; siblings Roberta (Bob) Eichelkraut who she raised, Gene (Margie) Oppy of Wesley Chapel FL, Tom (Rita) Holt of Spring Valley, John Holt of Arlington Illinois; grandchildren Amanda (Jay) Melton of Toulon, Alex Lenz of Lacon, Bayly Junker of Toulon, Morgan Forrest of Henry, Jacob Forrest of Henry; and great grandchildren Schuyler, Isaac, Emersyn, and Sam; and special Nephews Bill Eichelkraut and Nick (Amanda) Eichelkraut with Macy and Charlie. She was also preceded in death by her brother Jasper “Hop” Oppy and special cousin Elizabeth Holt.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the family and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
