Bloomington- David Roy Dithen, 70,
of Bloomington, passed away at 1:50 a.m. on Saturday, March
22, 2014 at his residence in Bloomington.
David was born April 18, 1943 in
Bloomington, Illinois, a son to Arthur W. and Mildred Reeder
Dithen.
He is survived by one sister,
Shirley (Raymond) Heidelberg of Downs; three brothers, Daniel, with
whom he made his home, of Bloomington, Bill (Crystal) Dithen of
Bloomington, Walter Dithen of Bloomington; and a host of nieces and
nephews.
David was preceded in death by his
maternal grandparents, Ethel Brand and Edward Reeder; paternal
grandparents, Peter and Gretchen Dithen; and his parents.
Funeral services will be Friday,
March 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home
in Bloomington with Pastor Stephanie Soon officiating. Visitation
will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Full Military Rites will be accorded by the Bloomington-Normal
American Legion Honor Guard.
Interment will be in Park Hill
Cemetery, Bloomington. Memorial contributions may be directed
to the Community Cancer Center.
David served in the United States
Army and was stationed in Vietnam. He worked at GM & O Railroad
and ran the Dithen Service Station. David was a gardener who
enjoyed raising peaches. He liked to cook and enjoyed fishing with
family. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
