Janice Pozzie

Janice E. Pozzie, 66, of Toluca, died on August 29, 2017 at OSF St. Francis in Peoria. Born in Macomb, IL on September 13, 1950 to Glenn and Marjorie Buss Gordon, she married Kenny Pozzie on May 3, 1980 in Toluca.
Jan graduated with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Science and Education from Western Illinois University. For over 35 years, she taught at the Lacon Grade School, before retiring in 2006. Jan helped prepare many fourth-graders for the world ahead.
Jan loved watching Dancing with the Stars and having lunch with her "Ya Ya Sisters", Diane & Rowe. She enjoyed Days of our Lives and getting her hair & nails done too.
Jan is survived by her husband Ken of Toluca and daughter Erica Pozzie (Derek Kolb) of Chicago. She was preceded in death by one half-brother and one half-sister, as well as her parents.
Cremation rights have been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 16 at the Lacon Congregational United Church of Christ at 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior.
