Lisa Cook

Lisa A. Cook, 70, of Lacon Illinois, died on September 22, 2021 at Snyder Village in Metamora. Born in Peoria on September 27, 1950 to the late Roger and Margaret (Craine) Pottinger, she married Robert Cook on December 21, 1968 in Washburn. Bob died on March 21, 2013.

For more than 35 years, Lisa babysat from her home. With her husband Bob, Lisa “helped raise” many area children from infancy to high school. Each of these kids meant the world to Lisa, who treated them as her own. She showed kindness and love to all her kids. These kids were her life’s work and life’s love. They were Lisa’s kids too.

She is survived by her sisters Sue (Steve) Weers of Lacon, Mary Schupp of Chillicothe, Ellen Engle of Seatonville IL, Jean Flanagan of Falling Waters WV. brothers in Law Chuck (Lynn) Cook of Washington, Tim Cook of Metamora, Dick (Terri) Cook Of Metamora; and sister in Law Jane (Jerry) Oliver of Hot Springs AR. She was also preceeded by her brother Tom Pottinger

Services for Lisa will be held on Saturday, September 25 at 11 AM at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon with a visitation held one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lacon. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Lacon Sparland Ambulance. Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
