Paul Diebel

Paul L. Diebel, 68, of rural Washburn died September 1, 2014 at 5:45 pm near Washburn. Born in Peoria on July 17, 1946 to the late Harold and Aldene Patterson Diebel, Paul graduated from Washburn High School in 1964 and served his country in the Marine Corps. He was then employed by Caterpillar as a machinist for 35 years and retired in 2005.
Paul is survived by his sons Matt (Vicki) Diebel of rural Washburn and Shane (Kristi) Diebel of rural Sparland; his daughter Paula (Wes) Skaggs of Lee Summit, MO; and 7 grandchildren. Paul was also preceded in death by his nephew, David Bowers.
Paul was an avid duck and deer hunter who enjoyed being around his friends and his dog, Fatboy. He enjoyed westerns, dancing, and the ladies. He is a kind and generous soul that will be missed greatly.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Lenz Memorial Home is assisting the family with their arrangements.
