Ahna L. Merdian, 96, of Lacon, died on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at her daughter's home in Wyoming, Ill.
Ahna was born on August 8, 1924, to the late Frederick and Maude (Pickerell) Roth. She married Alvin "Al" Merdian on November 23, 1942. Al preceded her in death on February 10, 1988. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Ahna is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Hafley of Magnolia and Jean Forbes of Wyoming; two sons, Charles Merdian of Magnolia and Alvin Merdian of Toluca; brother, Charles Roth of Morton; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 11 step-great- grandchildren.
Ahna Worked in the card room at the Lacon Woolen Mill and later was a retail clerk at Bohm Hardware and Loy‘s Toys Five & Dime, where most people will remember her from.
A funeral service for Ahna will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Lacon Cemetery.
