Barbara Fardel Rummerfield, 70, of rural Lacon died on December 17, 2015 at her residence. Born on September 18, 1945 in Pekin to the late Joseph and Clarine Russell Fardel, she married Frank Brefeld and had three children. Frank passed on July 8, 1972 and she was later married to Larry Holocker for 10 years before he died on October 4, 1985. On December 23, 1998 she
married Vernon Rummerfield in Lacon.
Barb worked as a housekeeper at various nursing homes and Caterpillar but most will remember her as a rural Journal Star paper carrier for over 25 years.
Surviving her are: her husband Vernon of Lacon; son Frank Holocker of Lacon; daughters Suzette McConnell of Dallas, TX; Lynette Bracy of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren Alexander (Marian) Ellis of Houston, TX; Gabrielle Ellis of Fort Hood,TX; Faith Holocker Jacksonville, FL; Kevin Bracy Jr. of Peoria; and great grandchild, Adriana Ellis.
She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Allen & Joseph Fardel.
A graveside service will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin on Monday, December 21 at 11 am with Rev Mike Barclay officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-6 pm at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon.
