Eureka-Barbara Ann Jording, 79, passed away at 10:45 pm on
Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Apostolic Christian Home of
Eureka.
She was born in Peoria, IL on September 21, 1934 to Raymond C. and
Emily A. Thompson Morris. She married Eugene Jording on
November 24, 1957. He survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Joan Jording, a granddaughter,
Candice Cecil and a great-granddaughter, Danielle Cecil all of
Eureka, IL. Also surviving are two sisters, Patricia Quick of
Bartonville, IL and Lore (Ron) Bledsoe of Ormand Beach, FL and
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Steven Jording in
1995, three sisters, Alice Carr, Virginia Bauman, and Charlotte
Green and two half-brothers.
After graduation she worked for Demanes Interiors and went on to
work as Secretary of the Dean of Students at Eureka College for
several years. She also worked for the Woodford County
Courthouse and was instrumental in setting up the first
computerized tax bills. She went on to work at the Woodford
County Farm Bureau until she retired.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 11:00 am
at St. John's Lutheran Church in Secor where she was a
member. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Pastor Joseph Burns will officiate. Burial will be in Olio
Township Cemetery in Eureka.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Apostolic
Christian Home in Eureka. The family would like to thank the
nurses and staff at the home who went above and beyond with their
loving and compassionate care given to her. Also we would
like to thank Dr. Chris Hughes for his care.
Barb will always be remembered for her love of the nine pin no-tap
bowling and her love for league bowling. Also for the many
kind, compassionate things she had done for other people as well as
her generosity.
