Carol Lee Junker

Carol Lee Junker, 79, of rural Toluca Illinois, passed away on July 10, 2023 at Carle Proctor Hospital in Peoria Illinois. Born on November 19, 1943 in the Richland Township of Marshall County Illinois to the late Lyle and Lois (Simmons) Schumacher. She married Darrel Junker on November 25, 1961 in Varna Illinois.

Carol is survived by her husband, Darrel at home; daughters Dawn (Tom) McKie of Cambridge Illinois, Tammy Cowell of Gibson City Illinois; siblings Marvin Schumacher of Varna, Judy Lancaster of LaRose Illinois; grandchildren Kiersten (Charlie) Brown of North Liberty Iowa, Kendall (Taylor) Constable of Iowa City, Jenna Vogel of Gibson City, Alison (Jordan) Sizemore of Gibson City, Paige (John) Demblon of Gibson City; and great grandchildren Rowan, Lennon, Laken, Harper, and Nora.

Carol loved the quiet things in life such as nature, plants (especially hostas), her doll collection, baking, photography and reading. She also loved a few of the noisy things too like her dachshunds, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carol also enjoyed spending time with her two daughters. Darrel and Carol were best friends and did everything together.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 15 from 12 to 2 PM at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon Illinois with a memorial service at 2 PM. Memorials can be made to the ARK Animal Kennel in Lacon and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com.
