Chaise Mangold

Chaise Michael Mangold, 21, of Lacon, Ill. formerly Sparland, died on April 15, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Peoria on October 14, 1999 to Patrick and Lisa (Murphy) Mangold, he graduated from Midland High School and became an operating engineer in Operating Engineers local 649 working for Minnesota limited. Chaise served his community as a member of the Lacon Sparland Fire Department.

Chaise was the most caring and kind-hearted person who never left anyone out. He was always dancing no matter how horrible the song was. He loved hanging out with his friends drinking and playing pool. Growing up chaise always enjoyed video games, four wheeling and dirt bikes with friends and family. He had a passion for trucks, equipment and mustangs. Especially when it came to fixing them up with his dad. His family owned a farm and he enjoyed nothing more than to spend time with them during harvest season. His favorite food was chicken nuggets and an ungodly amount of ketchup. Chaise loved his friends and family so very much.

Chaise is survived by his parents Pat and Lisa; grandparents Jerri Mangold of Lacon, Sharon Murphy of Sparland, Joe (Judith) Murphy of Sparland; aunts and uncles Steve (Lisa) Mangold of Lacon, Joe (Tina) Mangold of Lacon, Jill (Shannan) Ozga of Sparland, Joe (Angela) Murphy of Sparland; cousins Adam (Amanda) Mangold of Lowpoint, Matt (Abby) Mangold Lacon, Collin (Marie) Mangold of Lacon, McKenzi Mangold of LaRose, Kirstyn (Ben) Friday of Metamora, Hunter Ozga of Sparland; with many more relative too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Robert “Bob” Mangold.

Chaise will be lying in state for Visitation from 4-8pm on Tuesday, April 20 at the Lacon Sparland Fire Department 921 5th St in Lacon. Parking can be found on Ida Street and at the Saint John’s church parking lot. next-door. A fire department walk-through will be held at 7 PM. A private family funeral service will be held and burial will be in the Lacon Cemetery.
