David Endress

David R. Endress, 89, of Sparland died on December 21, 2014 at 8:15pm at his residence. He was born on May 23, 1925 in Speer to the late Christian and Josephine Zeitler Endress. David was a farmer all his life with a stint in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre.

David married Donna Vest in Peoria on Dec. 11, 1949. She survives. Also surviving are son Steve (Susie) Endress of Kankakee; daughter Sue (Ray) Allen of Speer; grandchildren Brad (Angie) Endress of Pensacola, FL; Nichole (Peter) Lotus of New Lenox, IL; Joni (Dan) Brooks of Chillicothe; Michael (Jen) Allen of Lake in the Hills, IL; grandchildren Lilly, Jackson, Easton, Emma, Mickey, Demi, Peter, and Brayden.

David was very active in church and community. He was a lifetime member of LaPrairie United Presbyterian Church, served on the Marshall Putnam Fair Board, the Sparland #3 School Board, and was a member of the Farm Bureau & Illinois Corn Huskers Association. His support of local school programs was matched only by his love of farming.

Services will be held December 27 at 11 am at the LaPrairie United Presbyterian Church with visitation being held at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon on Friday, December 26 from 4-6pm and one hour prior at his church. Burial will be in the Marshall County Lawn Ridge Cemetery.
