Dennis Junker

Dennis G. Junker, 68, of Wenona, died on August 31, 2018 at his home. Born in Streator on September 26, 1949 to the late Gerhardt and Marguerite Loser Junker, he marriedCharlene Ballard in Varna in May of 1975. She passed away June 8, 2003. He later married Shirley Walker on December 3, 2003 in Lacon.

Dennis was a meat cutter for over 30 years, working at Eagles, Gerardo‘s, and retiring from Illinois Valley Foods. He was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workersand St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Varna.Dennis served his country in the Air National Gaurd.

Dennis is survived by his wife Shirley; sons Barry, Stephen, & Nathan (KrystalKendall) Junker all of Wenona; stepsons Jason and David Dobson of Wenona;stepdaughter Sheila Humpage of Oglesby; brother Don (Kathy) Junker of Varna; sisters Mary (Steve) Olson & Suzanne (Bill) Bartlett both of Houston TX,and grandchildren Amiaha, Jaylen, Teegan,Lydia, Michelle, Michaela, and Sebastian.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 5 at 11 AM at Saint Paul'sLutheran Church in Varna with a visitation held on Tuesday, September 4 from 5to 7 PM and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday. Peter Glock will be officiating and burial will be in Saint Paul Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Saint Paul's church and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
