Donald E. Palm, 67, of Lake Wildwood Varna, died from injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident on August 31st 2017.
He leaves his wife of 41 years, Cynthia Johnson Palm, sons Troi (Scarlett) Palm of Lacon, Travis Palm of Falls Church Va., Shannon (Rebecca) Palm of Wentzville Mo., brother William (Wilma) Palm of Bemidji Mn., sister in law Becky Palm of Henry, and 5 grandchildren, Matheu, Madeleine, Kelsey, Mason and Riley.
He is preceded by parents Burdette and Margaret Schlosser Palm and brother Kenneth Palm.
Born in Peoria, on July 9th 1950, Donn was a life-long athlete, excelling in baseball, basketball, track, golfing and sport fishing. He passed his love of sports to his sons and grandchildren through backyard lessons, coaching their teams, or cheering from the sidelines.
A dedicated provider for his family, he spent his working life at B.F. Goodrich until his retirement in 2009.
Devoted to his parents, and an avid gardener, after work he would often drive an hour out of his way to visit his parents and help them maintain large gardens there in addition to his own garden at home. He worked tirelessly to be a good husband, father, son, brother and friend.
A memorial service will be held at the Lacon-Sparland Methodist Church on September 8th at 2pm, with visitation one hour prior. Memorials can be made to the ASPCA and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
