Doris E. Routh, 96, of Sparland, died on September 12, 2017 at Toulon Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Toulon. Born on February 25, 1921 in Draper WI to the late Carl and Olga Hedlund Eklow, she was married to Hank Anderson and later married Leo Routh in 1954. Leo passed away in 1990.
Doris is survived by her children: Tom (Maureen) Anderson of Mesa Arizona; Charles (Anne) Routh of Sparland; John (Terry) Routh of Princeton; Jim Routh of Princeton; Helen (Dan) Pope of Chillicothe; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her sister Vera Lowers.
Doris was a hard worker all her life. Her favorite place to be was the great outdoors. She was the extra farm hand for her father as a child and her husband as a wife; she was an invaluable part of the family farm. During Doris's life she had a variety of jobs. Besides on the farm, she owned a cabin retreat in Wisconsin and soldered wiring harnesses for a vending machine company. She enjoyed family time, especially with the grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 16 at 11 AM at Lenz Memorial Home with a visitation two hours prior. Cremation rights will be accorded. Memorials can be made to Lacon Sparland Fire Department and online condolences can be left at Lenz Memorial Home.com
