Dorothy Ann (Zehr)( Plesha) Bean




Chenoa-Dorothy Ann (Zehr) (Plesha) Bean, 77, of Meadows, IL
passed away at 7:32a.m. surrounded by her family on Saturday, March
23, 2013 at Meadows Mennonite Home.




Dorothy Ann Zehr was born on January 19, 1936 in Meadows, IL to
Albert Christian and Ruth Anita Ranney Zehr. She married Edward
Plesha on August 12, 1955. He preceded her in death June 16, 1980.
She later married her high school sweetheart, Elwood Bean on August
23, 1984. He survives.




Surviving include her husband; three children, Brenda(Scott)
Uphoff of El Paso; Michael (Carolyn) Plesha of Bloomington; Marcia(
Douglas) Kridner of El Paso; six grandchildren, Spring(Shannon)
Neely of El Paso; Kristy (Anthony) Brown of Waterloo, IA; Summer
(Matthew) Hinthorne of El Paso; Andrew and Autumn Kridner at home;
Edward Plesha at home; ten great grandchildren all at home,
Alexandra Nicholas Neely; Preston, Dayton, Shepard and Cameron
Brown; Isabella, Sophie, Luke and Roman Hinthorne; one sister,
Lorraine Russell of Viroqua, WI; two step-children, Juli
Bean-Schielein of Chillicothe; Stephen Bean of North Carolina; six
step-grandchildren, two step great grandchildren as well as many
nieces and nephews.




She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters,
Luella(Zehr) Frobish and Alice Zehr; three brothers Leroy,
Floyd and George Zehr.




She graduated from Chenoa High School in 1954. She was a
life-long member of Meadows Mennonite Church. For many years, she
actively volunteered with her church, the elderly and sick in her
community, Meadows Mennonite Home, the Spare and Share Shop in
Gridley, and the Central Illinois Mennonite Relief Sale. In
addition to volunteering, she enjoyed celebrating the holidays with
her family, cooking,  especially baking, crocheting, making
ceramics, and spending time with her dogs.




She will be greatly missed, but we find comfort in knowing that
she is finally at peace. We are extremely grateful for the loving
care the staff of the Meadows Mennonite Home has provided to her
during the past six and a half years.




Funeral services will be at 10:00a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013
at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Reverend Jane Roeschley
will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013
from 5-7p.m. at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Burial
will be at the Chenoa Cemetery.




In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the
