Folkert Duane Cremer, 77, of Lacon, died on May 18, 2017 at his son's residence in El Paso. Born on December 30, 1939 in Rural Rutland to the late Folkert G. and Anna Ruestman Cremer, he was married to Sandra Kay Thompson for nine years and had 2 children. He later married Chris Thomas on June 28nd 1974 in Eureka.
Duane was a security guard at Caterpillar Mossville for 32 years. For many years he was an avid bicyclist, riding the Hennepin canal and Mississippi River trails. Duane was also a former member of the Woodford County Sheriff's Posse.
He is survived by: his wife Chris; sons Jason Cremer of El Paso, James(Ava) Cremer of Minonk, Todd Haas of Lacon; and daughter Myra (Jeff) Turner of El Paso. He was also preceded in death by brother Dennis and daughter Aleys "Sissy" Cremer
Cremation rights have been accorded and a memorial visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon with private family burial of ashes in Old Salem Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Lacon Sparland Ambulance or Fire and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com.
