Frances Bennington

Francis M. Bennington, 75, of Toluca Ill., died on February 5, 2021 at her home. Born on March 12, 1945 in Peoria to the late Elmer and Mary Alice (Seward) Brown, she married Joel Bennington on February 14, 1969 in Varna. Joel passed July 16, 2015.
Fran attended the University of Illinois and was the cook at the Lacon Grade School for over 25 years. Many children have fond memories of her meals.
Throughout her life, Fran always made time for family and friends she held dear. One of her fondest pastimes was playing cards and Bunco. She always liked meeting new people and never met one she couldn't talk to. Fran will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched.
Fran is survived by her daughter Julie (Jason) Close of Lacon; granddaughters Kimberly, Cassidy, and Brianna Close; grandson Randy Close; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law Lois McQueen of Peru. She was also preceded in death by her brother Seward Brown and Nephew Chad Brown.
Cremation rights have been accorded and a graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the ARK animal shelter and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
