Gary L. Keffeler, 81, of Lacon Il., died on August 24, 2021 at UnityPoint Proctor in Peoria. Born on October 14, 1939 in Sturgis South Dakota to the late Leo and Lois (Forney) Keffeler, he married Jacquelyn Foley on September 11, 1961 in Sturgis SD. Jaque died on December 8, 2018.
Gary is survived by his children Bradley (Patty) of Chillicothe, Garilyn (Glenn) Wells of Minonk, D. Charles (Mary Kate) of Collierville Tenn., Jason (Jennifer) of Peoria, Shanda (Jeff) Carter of Peoria; 13 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and his furbaby, Prince Harry. He is also survived by his brothers, Keith (Sue) of Sturgis, SD, Dave (Wendy) of Albuquerque, NM and Bruce (Cheryl) of Casper, WY.
Gary was a mechanical engineer retiring from Caterpillar after 35 years. He also was a member of the Covered Bridge Chorus out of Princeton and the Immaculate Conception Church in Lacon. Well known for his deep bass singing voice, Gary participated in a variety of productions at River Valley Players and actively participated in his church choir.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a visitation will be held on Thursday September 2 from 5 to 7 at Lenz memorial Home in Lacon with an 11:00 a.m. funeral mass being held on Friday, September 3 at Immaculate Conception Church in Lacon. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery and memorials can be made to the Altar and Rosary Society his church. Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
