Gary G. Newell

Gary G. Newell, 67, of Sparland Illinois, died on March 30, 2023 at OSF Saint Anthony’s hospital in Rockford. He was born on September 13, 1955 in Peoria to the late George and Virginia (Kimble) Newell.

 Gary worked at Mitsubishi as a manufacturer.Gary spent most of his free time on projects in his garage and loved spending his summers in Wisconsin fishing. He had a love for animals and always had Tilly, his dog, with him wherever he went. Many people knew and loved Gary for his stubbornness and great sense of humor.

Gary is survived by his son Chad Newell of Peoria: granddaughters Hope (Daniel Thomas) Newell of Peoria & Brooke Newell of Bloomington, sister-in-law; Brenda Newell of Sparland; nephew Blake (fiancé Rachel) Newell of Sparland and many cousins. He  was also preceded in death by brother Mark Newell.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials in his name may be made to The ARK Humane Society. Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com.
