George Smith

George William Smith, “Bill”, 80, of Minonk, formerly Magnolia and Toluca, died on November 11, 2021 at Heritage Health in Minonk. Born on June 1, 1941 in Chicago Illinois to the late Dr. Everett J. Smith and Katherine Ida (Deutsch) Smith, he married Judith A. Anderson on October 9, 1970 in Chicago. Judith A. Smith, 90, died January 8, 2021 at Aperion Health Care in Princeton.

Bill was a truck driver, a rural mail carrier for Wenona Illinois, owned a bar in Chicago and Smitty’s Tap in Toluca.  Bill retired from the Postal Service.   Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1963 through 1965.  Judy was a loving wife and homemaker.

Bill and Judy are survived by his brother Richard J. Smith and family, sister Catherine Judith Smith, sister Mary June Grimes and family and the family of his late brother Everett J Smith Jr.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a graveside service for both Bill and Judy will be held on December 2, 2021 at 11am at the Roberts Township cemetery north of Varna.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George W.
