Grace E. Shafer

Washburn- Grace E. Shafer, 91,  of rural Washburn died
February 15, 2014 at 1pm at her daughter's residence. She was born
January 2, 1923 to the late Christian and Matilda Leman Porzelius
in rural Gridley,  Illinois. On February 28, 1949 she married
Kenneth "Bill" Shafer in Normal, Illinois.  He passed on June
17, 2003.



Grace is survived by her three children: William (Kris) Shafer
of Williamsburg,  Iowa; Christine (Dennis) Lee of
Nevada,  Iowa; and Beth Kline of Washburn.  Also
surviving are eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her brother Wayne Porzelius, her sister
Doris Giggenbothan,  and son-in- law Lester Kline.



Funeral services will be held at Lenz Memorial Home on
Wednesday,  February 19 at 11 am with visitation one hour
prior to the service. Rev. Mike Barclay will officiate.
Burial will be in Old Salem Cemetery.  Memorials can be made
to the American Diabetes Association.  Online condolences may
