Harold Dewalt

Harold "Bud" Dewalt, 88, of Sparland passed away at his home on October 26, 2017.
Born on November 3, 1928 in Sparland to the late John Jr. and Ruth Jacobs Dewalt, he married Rose Mary Gauwitz on June 8, 1957 in Lacon. He is survived by his wife and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his two sisters.
Budd was drafted into the US Army in March 1951 and served 18 months in Japan and Korea. After discharge from the service, he worked various jobs in the area for several years and in 1962 started work at General Methods Corporation in Chillicothe and retired from the company which had moved Peoria in 1990.
Rose and Budd were blue grass music fans and started attending festivals in 1972 and still enjoyed going.
Per Budd‘s request there will be no visitation or service cremation rights have been recorded and burial of ashes will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery on November 4 at 11am. Memorials can be made to St. Jude and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
