Irene Jason, 94, of rural Lacon and formerly Stover, MO passed away on August 5, 2016 in Peoria at Unity Point Proctor. Born on April 24, 1922 in Manlius, IL to the late Lee and Mabel Jackson Davis, she married Raymond R. Jason in Lacon on November 8, 1947. Raymond passed away on March 24, 2003.
Irene was a cook, seamstress, and quilter. She owned the Lacon Cafe for four years in the 60's and spent many years working with Raymond on their farms. She loved playing cards and bingo. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Red Hats, and the Can Doer's Club. Irene
was loved by all and will be missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Rothlisberger, of East Peoria (with whom she has lived the past 3 years); granddaughter Missy (Cody Kennedy) Bell of Morton; grandsons Matt Wilbanks of Eureka; Brett (Jennifer) Wilbanks of Peoria; and great grandchildren Kiersten, Emmett, Carter, Jason and Jordan. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 13 at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon with a visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will be in the Lacon Cemetery, and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com.
