James B. Brown, 69, of Lacon, died on February 14 at his home. Jim was born in Peoria on June 27, 1951 to the late Edward and Anna (Snethen) Brown.
Jim worked at Caterpillar for over 31 years, where he built engines, retiring in 2002.
Jim enjoyed working on small engines, fixing many machines with them for family and friends. He also loved to work on his antique Rambler car, and going to car shows. Jim was always ready to spend time with family and friends chatting, and of course spending time with Marian and his dog Bambi was the best.
Jim is survived by his companion Marian Bohm of Lacon; son James B Brown Jr. of Pekin; daughter Tina Braun of Princeton, Jamie L. Brown of Peoria; step son Randy Rummerfield of Hopedale; brother Edward Brown of Texas; sister Nancy Hosler Summit of Lacon; 6 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one stepson Joshua Neuhalfen.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 19 from 5 to 7 PM at Lenz Memorial in Lacon, with prayers at 7 PM. Cremation rites will be accorded with burial at Immaculate Conception Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Illinois CancerCare Foundation or donor's choice and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
