James Lampson

James L. Lampson, 84, of Sparland, died on April 20, 2018 surrounded by his family at home. Born on October 25, 1933 in Kewanee to the late Albert Lampson and Marjorie Morris Lampson Hickey, Jim served his country first in the Navy and later in the Army and the Air Force. He married Linda Davis on October 15, 1966 at the Sparland Methodist Church. Jim worked in the shipping department at Caterpillar for 30 years and was a proud member of UAW local 974.
Jim is survived by, his wife Linda, son James (Susan) Lampson of Maryland, daughters Kerry Swanson of Sparland & Casey (Jeremy) Swanson of Varna, son Patrick (Kathleen) Lampson of Toluca, brother Tom Lampson of Texas, sister Bonnie Allen & best friend Mike Geddes both of Chillicothe, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and six step grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by sister Patricia Kear and stepfather Donald Hickey. Cremation rights have been accorded and per James's wishes there will be no services.
