James Sackfield

James T. "Jim" Sackfield, 75, of Varna, IL, passed away July 18, 2019, at his residence. Born in Brazil, IA, on December 6, 1943, to the late John and Mary Etta (Burgess) Sackfield, he was a detective in the Marshall County Sherriff's Department for over 20 years and later a truck driver for Central Transport.
An avid fisherman, James loved fishing for Walleyes on Lake Dinorwic in Ontario, Canada. He acted as a guide on many area lakes for fishermen in search of Walleye, Lake Trout, and Northern Pike. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with many new fishermen. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police & Teamsters.
James is survived by his children: Marieta Zimmer of Croswell, MI, Karen Penley of Flint, MI, Teresa (Mark) Franciscovich of Kewanee, IL, Carla DeLisle of Fenton, MI, Angela Sackfield of Clarksville, TN, James (Stephanie) Sackfield of Washington Township MI, & Amy (Mike) Pagan of Chillicothe, IL; sisters Della Pribnow of Maplewood, MN, & Jonetta "Pixie" Long of Longmont, CO; sister-in-law Kyung Cha Sackfield of Parkville MO. 16 grandchildren: Justin Anuszkiewicz, Brandon (Christie) Anuszkiewicz, Anthony Anuszkiewicz, Andrew Johnson, Matthew (Katherine) Johnson, Joseph Roybal, Talisa (Joel) Jason, Melinda (Steve) Krantz, Vanessa (Tony) Zacarias, Matthew Franciscovich, Ashleigh Franciscovich, Jillian Parsons, Dayton DeLisle, Jason Sackfield, Samantha Sackfield & Britni (Thomas) Foley,12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother John Raymond Sackfield and sisters Elsie Charlton, Margaret Thomas, and Emma Sager; brothers-in-law Robert Charlton, Milton Thomas, Richard Pribnow, and H. Wayne Long.
Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services at this time. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorials can be made to Saint Jude Children's Hospital and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
