James E. Deffenbaugh

James E. “Jimmy” Deffenbaugh, 58, of Sparland Illinois, passed away on February 12, 2022 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born on May 25, 1963 to George and Donna (Miner) Deffenbaugh Sr., he married Julie Joyce and had two daughters. He also was married to Tamara Milligan. Jimmy later married the love of his life,Paula Placher on October 10, 2015 in Camp Grove.

Jimmy is survived by his wife Paula at home; father George (Marlene) of Henry; daughters Jessica (Shane) Carlton of Toulon, Amanda (James) Mercer of Henry; step daughters Jacklyn Jason of Chillicothe, Jessica (Dave) Blankenship of Peoria; stepsons Lawrence Dabbs of Florida, Jimmy Thompson of Spring Bay, Kristopher Thompson of Lacon; Brothers George “Topper”(Cheryl) Deffenbaugh of Bradford, Larry (Victoria)Deffenbaugh of Lacon, Ronnie (Kathy) Deffenbaugh of Sparland, James Stephens of Wataga, Don (Robin) Sayer of Virginia Beach; sisters Tammy (Clair) Divert of Low Point, Stephanie (Bruce) Baker of Avon Park FL; Barbie Cargill of Pekin; 16 grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his mother Donna Flanagan and stepmother Carol Deffenbaugh.

Jimmy was employed at Komatsu in Peoria and a member of Boilermakers Local 158 for 17 years. He was also member of the Allendale Conservation Club, Ducks Unlimited, NRA, and a proud founding member of Bullshit Boulevard.

Funeral services for Jimmy will be on February 19, 2022 at 12pm at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 12 prior to the service. Burial will be in the Lacon Cemetery and memorials can be made to St. Jude. Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
