June 4, 1939 — May 17, 2013

HEYWORTH - Jeanne E. Oyer, 73, of
Heyworth passed away with loved ones around her at 10:46 a.m.
Friday (May 17, 2013) at home.

A memorial service will be at 10
a.m. Saturday at the Mennonite Church of Normal, with the Rev. Tim
Schrag officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8
p.m. Friday at the church.

Memorials may be made to OSF St.
Joseph Hospice and St Jude's Cancer research.

Jeanne was born June 4, 1939, in
Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Lester and Edith
Schmidt Bachert. She married Clarence Oyer on June 9, 1962, in
Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.

Jeanne is survived by her husband,
Clarence "Mannie" Oyer, Heyworth; one daughter, Cheryl (Jim)
Graham, Colorado; and one son, Bryan Oyer, Heyworth. She is also
survived by her sister, Marjorie Musselman, Ontario; two
sisters-in-law, Jean Bachert and Gloria Bachert, both of Ontario;
six grandchildren, Matthew Works, David Works, Bailey Graham,
Jackson Graham, Aryia Rasmussen and River Rasmussen; and several
nieces and nephews.



Jeanne was preceded in death by her
parents; one daughter, Christina Oyer; and two brothers, Ross and
Robert Bachert.

Jeanne attended the
Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate. She began her career at National
Insurance and later State Farm Insurance Cos., where she retired
with over 23 years in the company. Jeanne was involved with the
Sweet Adelines and directed several youth choirs. She enjoyed
singing, crafting, gardening, water aerobics, scrapbooking,
ceramics and playing piano.
