Josephine A. Cain

Josephine A. Cain, 69, of rural Edelstein Illinois died on March 11, 2023 at UnityPoint Proctor emergency room in Peoria. Born in Peoria on December 20, 1953 to Wayne and Helen (Asherbranner) Harmon, she married Mark Cain on July 13, 1973 in Peoria.

Josephine is survived by her husband Mark at home; mother Helen Harmon of Lacon; children Joel Cain of Wisconsin, Susie Currier of Oklahoma; sisters Sue Mooberry of Lacon, Pam Brashear of Washburn Illinois; brother Steve (Allison) Harmon of Hardin Illinois; grandchildren, Joshua, Ariel, Amanda, and Shelby; and Great granddaughter Elayna.  She was preceded in death by her father Wayne Harmon.

Josephine was an avid outdoors person. Her favorite thing to do was to hunt. Whether hunting mushrooms, deer, ginseng, or dinner for the table, being in the woods with nature was what she loved.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a graveside burial service will be held at a later date at Fort-Dever Cemetery north of Washburn. Memorials can be made to Hunt of a lifetime for terminal children and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
