Karen J. Thompson, 73, of Lacon, died on March 8, 2017 at Heartland Manor Care in Peoria. Born to the late Conrad and Hazel Eliott Duyesen in Perryville, Missouri on February 6, 1944 she was married to Jim Thompson in 1961.
Karen was a waitress in the local area first working at Henry Harbor and then Kenyon's Place Restaurant for over 25 years.
Karen is survived by her sons, Tom Thompson of Chillicothe & Jim Thompson of Henry; grandsons James Thompson Jr. of Sparland and Christopher Thompson of Lacon.
Cremation rights have been recorded and burial will be at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held at Kenyon's Place on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 5 p.m. Memorials in Karen's name can be left to the ARK Animal Shelter and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
