Laurie Breckenridge

Laurie Gail Breckenridge, 56, of Lacon, Loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and guardian of all dogs & cats, died on November 30, 2018 at her residence. Born on August 21, 1962 in Peoria to Alfred and Linda Strawn Holocker, she married Donald Breckenridge on August 20, 1988 at the Marshall County Courthouse.
Laurie worked in the meat department at Lacon's Jim's IGA for over 15 years. She had also worked at Redco in Peoria.
Laurie is survived by her husband Don Breckenridge of Lacon, mother Linda Holocker of Lacon, daughter Nichole (Chris) Clare of Sparland, sisters Tanna Bohm of Toluca, Julie Holocker of Lacon, & Cindy Arndt of Fontana CA, step daughter Brook Breckenridge Cranford of Chillicothe, and grandchildren Calysta, Abbigail & Cody Clare. She was preceded in death by her father Alfred L. Holocker.
"O' dearest Laurie, if the dead can come back to this earth... unseen around those they loved, I shall always know you are near in the gladdest days and darkest nights... Always. Always. And if there be a soft breeze upon my cheek, it shall be your sweet kiss, it shall be your spirit passing me by. Laurie, I shall mourn, but think that you will wait for me, for we will meet again, love. Always. Always.."
Cremation rights have been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at7 PM at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon with Keith Haun officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 before the service. Burial will be in the Strawn Cemetery at a later date and memorials can be made to the ARK. Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
