Marilyn J. Miller, 82, of rural Henry, died on October 19, 2019 at Heartland Healthcare in Henry. Born to the late Kenneth and Frances Songer Cockerham, Marilyn married Robert Farling on August 2, 1952 in Henry. Robert died in 1996. She then married Luther Miller on August 8, 2004 in Princeton; He survives. Marilyn was a very strong woman, a siding installer and worked in the construction field for many years. She left a strong spiritual legacy for her children and grandchildren. Many times you would find her on her knees praying and communing with her friend, and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Family was most definitely a priority to Marilyn. Not only did she have a great impact on her own children, but Marilyn was a pillar to many others, impacting lives, both young and old. She served as church secretary for many years at her church, as well as song leader, Sunday School teacher, just to name a few ministries that she was involved in. She was a member of River of Life, Henry.
Marilyn served as a bookkeeper for Randall's Garage, and was heavily involved in remodeling houses with her husband, in her senior years. As an entrepreneur, she owned and managed her own business, called "It's a Blessing". This explains the heartbeat of Marilyn, being thankful and being a blessing to everyone she could.
Marilyn was as comfortable with a nail apron as she was a cooking apron, with lemon meringue pies being her specialty. A candy jar, homemade treats, and a warm hug were always a welcome to everyone who frequented her inviting home.
Marilyn is survived by: her husband Luther; children Barbara (Chris) Hammers of English IN, Donna (late David) Jewett of Huntington IN, Robert (Mary) Farling Jr. of English IN, Annette Bill Serpette of Henry; sister Beverly (John) Rogers of Henry; stepchildren Luanne Brown of Oglesby, Luther (Michelle) Miller Jr. of Missouri, Vicky Miller of Peru, David Miller of Henry, Brad Miller of Galesburg; 10 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, and 12 step great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
