Marilyn L. Shelby




Minonk-Marilyn L."Bubbles" Shelby, 85, of Minonk, IL passed away
at 10:22 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at OSF St. Joseph Medical
Center in Bloomington.




She was born on October 15, 1928 in Pana, IL a daughter of
Charles Harry and Daphne McDowell Leigh. She married Richard
"Shock" Shelby on May 20, 1950 at St.Patrick's in Minonk. He
survives.




Survivors also include two sons, Dick(Karen) Shelby of Decatur;
Don(Cindy) Shelby of Minonk; one sister, Jean(Tom) Lauman of St.
Charles; one brother, Donald(Linda) Leigh of Fort Worth, Texas;
four grandchildren, Shawn Shelby of Decatur; Jason Shelby of Kansas
City, MO; Travis Shelby of O'Fallon; Kristen Shelby of Minonk; two
great grandchildren, Allie and Kaiden.




She was preceded in death her parents, two brothers, CJ
and  Roger, two sisters, Jackie and Joyce.




Marilyn was a telephone operator in Minonk. She was the co-owner
of the Minonk Locker, She was also a bank teller at the Minonk
State Bank.




Marilyn was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minonk
and also the Altar and Rosary Society at church.




Bubbles had a loving smile and will be greatly missed by
everyone that knew her. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma and
will be greatly missed by her family.




Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014
at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minonk. Franciscan Friars will
officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from
9-10:30a.m. at the church. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Catholic
Cemetery in Minonk. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is
handling arrangements for the family.
