Marjorie J. Burnell, 86, of Varna died at McLean County Nursing Home on May 2, 2016. Born on June 18, 1929 in Sparland to the late Thomas and Madeline Bort Lishman, she married Louis Burnell on July 17, 1947 in LaRose. Louis died on November 14, 1998.
She was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Varna and a current member of Trinity Lutheran in Bloomington.
Marjorie is survived by: her daughters Lois Rosales of Lacon; Linda (Wayne) Huggett of Montello, WI; Carol (Mike) Minchew of Perryville, AR; Mary (Larry) Banta of Bloomington; Sandy (late Lee) Slimko of Varna; June (late Everett) Bishop of Bloomington; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren and 3 step great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded by her son Larry "Butch" Burnell; three brothers, George, Edward, and Arthur Lishman; two sisters Elizabeth Wright and Audrey Lewis; and grandson Dee Minchew.
Services will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Varna at 11:00 am with a visitation being held ninety minutes prior to the service. Peter Glock will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery and memorials can be made to the Varna Ambulance or St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
