Marjorie Darlene Fenoglia, 90, of Lacon, IL passed away peacefully on the evening of February 4th, 2023 at Heritage Senior Care in Chillicothe, IL with loving family and friends by her side.
Margie was born on June 6th, 1932 in Minonk, IL to John and Margarat (Haugens) Neu. Her parents, along with her brother Robert Neu and sister Bernice (Neu) Maccari, preceded her in death. She graduated from Toluca High School in 1950, where she met her soulmate, Louis James Fenoglia. They married on February 3rd, 1951 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Minonk. He preceded her in death in 2017.
Surviving are three children, Kathy (Ralph) Webster, Jay (Kelly) Fenoglia and Jerry (Tracy) Fenoglia, all of Lacon; as well as six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
After they married, she went to work at the Toluca Garment Factory for many years. They moved from Toluca to Lake Wildwood where they created lifelong memories with family and friends that are still fondly remembered. She was a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lacon, to where she served as a sacristan. She found much joy in painting crafts, to which she sold at the Spoon River Drive with “Jimmy” by her side.
She adored animals, as she held a special place in her heart for all their beloved dogs. She was an avid reader, a collector of antiques and a lifelong organ player that enjoyed a wide range of music. She loved to be outside tending to her yard and took much pride in her flower beds that were admired by many. She also enjoyed family traditions, always wanting to spend time with her children and grandchildren, as well as close friends.
Margie will be remembered for many qualities, but her soft spoken voice and her strong faith will be most missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, February 10th, at Lenz Funeral Home in Lacon. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 11th at 10am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lacon, with a visitation 1 hour prior.
