Mary Kathryn Grimes

Mary K. Grimes, 72, of Lacon formerly of Goodfield, IL passed
away at 5:40 a.m. on Friday February 8, 2013 at her home in
Lacon.  She was born on December 20, 1940 in Normal, IL to the
late Cecil and Ruth (Holliger) McDonald.  She married John
Potts in October of 1963 and later married Merle Grimes on June 14,
1978; he preceded her in death on July 5, 2005.

She is survived by four sons, Clint (Shelly) Potts of Chandler,
AZ, Jim Potts of Peoria, IL, Joe (Lori) Potts of Bloomingdale, IL,
Louis (Amber) Grimes of Lacon, IL; one step-daughter, Valerie
Grimes of Lacon, IL; one brother CR (Betty) McDonald of Goodfield,
IL, one sister Creta (Harold) Wilson of Canton, IL; grandchildren
Cassidy and Ryan Potts of AZ and Lily Potts of IL; step
grandchildren Travis, Leena and JW Denham of IL; and many nieces
and nephews.

Mary graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing and worked as
a Registered Nurse. She retired from nursing after a work related
injury at Zeller Mental Health Center.  During her career as
an RN, she worked in numerous positions in the health field.

Mary enjoyed playing the piano, feeding the birds and shopping.
She enjoyed attending church at the United Methodist Church in
Brimfield and numerous bible studies in the area.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday
February 11, 2013 at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon. Services will be
at 11:00 a. m. on Tuesday February 12, 2013 at The Brimfield United
Methodist Church, with a visitation one hour prior to service . The
Reverend Leonard Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in the Lacon
cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Brimfield United
Methodist Church in Brimfield, IL.
