Norma J. Baldwin, 91, of Lacon, Ill. passed away peacefully on April 15, 2021 with her only daughter by her side. Born on October 5, 1929 in Princeton Ill. to the late Earl and Florence (Hansen) Lenihan, she married Norris Baldwin on December 16, 1950 in Peru. Norris passed away at the early age of 42 on September 21st 1967. Norma never remarried.
Norma worked as a Pharmacy Tech for nearly 50 years in downtown Lacon. As the drugstore names changed from Longman, to Shaffer Drugs, to Piper’s, and finally Low Cost Pharmacy Norma was always the constant friendly face.
Norma loved to spend time with her family. She was a very proud Mother, Grandma, and Great Grandma! Norma never missed a beat when it came to her family. Playing Bingo, watching Wheel of Fortune, and Reading were some of her other favorite things to do. She will also be remembered for her famous Coconut Cream Pie.
Norma is survived by her daughter Sandy (Mike) Kempf of Lacon; grandson Michael Ross (Darcy) Kempf of Peoria; granddaughter Wendy Kempf of Minneola Fla.; great grandsons Ethan Kempf in U.S. Navy, Rota Spain, Micah Thomas of Minneola Fla., and Evan Kempf of Peoria along with a special sister-in-law Emma McIntyre of Princeville. She was preceded in death by two brothers, an infant sister, one niece, and two nephews.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a graveside service will be held at 11am Saturday May 1st at the Lacon Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Norma’s name can be made to Meals on Wheels and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
