Bloomington - Otis B. Pate, 56 of
Bloomington passed away at 2:41 p.m. on Wednesday, December 25,
2013 at his residence.
Otis was born on March 31, 1957 in
Bloomington, a son to Willie and Queen (Neal) Pate, Sr.
Survivors include, his mother,
Queen Pate of Peoria; three brothers, Conzlouis (Cindy)
Pate, Sr. of Bloomington, Willie Pate, Jr. ,
Jimmy Pate; two sisters, Louise (J.L.) Houston and Hattie (Penny)
Pate, all of Peoria; three God children, Anikea Pate, Alyssia and
Aireona Pate and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
grandparents, father, Willie, four brothers and one sister.
Otis was a 1974 graduate of
Bloomington high school. He was employed at Sugar Creek Bakery for
17 years and worked in the Pantagraph mailroom for 10 years. Most
recently he worked in maintenance at Four Seasons in
Bloomington.
He attended the Church of God in
Christ in Bloomington in his earlier years. He love God and was a
believer.
The funeral service will be held at
noon on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at City of Refuge Ministries, 401
East Jefferson Street in Bloomington with Elder Felton Beck
officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on
Tuesday at the church.
Interment will be in Evergreen
Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington. Following the Interment a repast
will be held at City of Refuge Ministries, those wishing to donate
food for the repast may bring their food to the Church the morning
of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the
family in Otis's name. The family of Otis has entrusted
Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington to handle
arrangements for their loved one.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his friend
Dan for helping Otis throughout his life.
Otis enjoyed spending time with his
family. He was a kind soul who was loved by everyone and will be
sadly missed.
