Phyllis Bestold

Phyllis I. Bestold, 95, of Chillicothe, formerly Lacon, died on July 14, 2017 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Chillicothe.

Born in Graymont, IL on October 17, 1921 to the late Arley and Ora Shrigley Cunningham, she married Robert Bestold on June 22, 1940 in Davenport, IA. Bob died on February 23, 1983.

Phyllis worked at the Lacon Woolen Mill and the Toluca garment factory for over many years. She loved working in her beautiful flower gardens, was an excellent seamstress, and loved quilting. She also traveled across this country and visited many foreign lands. She will be dearly missed by her loving family.

Phyllis is survived by: her daughters Diana Blackburn of Eau Claire, WI; Sharon (Bill) Plikerd of Newark, OH; sons Robert Bestold and Darrelll (Patty) Bestold of Lacon; brother Robert (Jean) Cunningham of Lacon; sister Betty Kidd of Magnolia; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Donald and Richard Cunningham, daughter in law Dorothy "Susie" Bestold, and grandson Dusty Bestold.

Private family services for Phyllis will be held at Lacon Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Lacon Sparland United Methodist Church and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com.
