Raymond McCune

March 6, 1943 — September 3, 2021

Raymond D. McCune, 78, of Putnam Illinois, died on September 3, 2021 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born on March 6, 1943 to the late Jefferson and Margaret (Dailey) McCune, he married Shirley Appel on August 10, 1969 in Putnam, Illinois.

He attended Lacon schools and Illinois Central College.

Raymond was an Army medic from 1960 to 1963 in Germany.

Raymond owned his own trucking company, hauling steel for many years. He later drove locally for many other companies including Burroughs for over 10 years.

Raymond is survived by his wife Shirley; his son Charles (Kerry) McCune of Metamora, daughters Kelly (John Harrison) McCune of Saint Petersburg Florida, Regina (Randy) Lemons of Henry; Brothers Loren McCune of Water Valley KY, Jesse Dean McCune of Princeville; sister Sharon (Randy) Martin of Danvers, grandchildren Ireland McCune, Skylar and Logan Milne, and Roman Lemons. He was also preceded in death by his sister Shirley Jean.
