Rebecca Strong

Rebecca “Becky” Strong, 63, of Lacon Illinois, died on March 4, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 20, 1958 in Peoria to the late Donald and Shirley (Swanson) Carson she married Jack “Doug” Strong Jr. on November 6, 1982 in Lacon. He survives.

Becky worked at Low-Cost Pharmacy for over 28 years as a pharmacist technician. She was also a singer for the Caterpillar Employees Big Band for over 10 years.

Becky was a conversationalist, able to talk to anyone at any time. She loved a good glass of wine with friends and family, one of her favorite things to do. Other things that Becky liked was lunch with friends or family, sitting out at the farm and enjoying the wildlife, shopping, reading, and of course her nieces and nephews. Becky was a person that loved with all of her heart, especially Alex and Doug.

Becky is also survived by her son Alex of DePue, sister Dede (John) Hosler of Lacon; brothers Randy Carson of Sanibel Island, Scott (Pam) Carson of Chillicothe; brother-in-law Pat (Amy) Strong of Myrtle Beach SC; parents in law Jack and Barb Strong; sisters in law Allison (Alan) Holler of Henry, Kim Strong of Lacon, Molly Strong of Princeville; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sister Lisa Osborne, and infant siblings Molly and Michael Carson.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 12 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Lacon. Visitation for Becky will be held on Friday, March 11 from 5 to 7 PM at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon with Rosary at 4:30pm. Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery and memorials can be made to River Valley Players or Lacon Sparland Ambulance. Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
