Renee M. Baum, 45, Varna, Illinois died on July 16, 2021 at her residence. Born on December 29, 1975 in Lasalle to John and Roberta (Stuart) Vitale, she married William Baum on December 12, 2011 in Lacon.

Renee worked at Marshall’s clothing store for several years before she stayed at home to watch her grandchildren. She is with her son Riley and will be greatly missed.

Renee is survived by her husband Bill; mother Bertie (Bob Beilby) Soeder of Varna; daughters Emily (Zach Mekley) Burtsfield of Varna, Haley (Brad) Jefford of Lacon, twin sister Robin Hawkins of East Peoria, sister Jennifer (Daryl) Rinaldo of Varna; grandmother Ollie Stuart of Ottawa; grandchildren Brantley, Ryan, Cale, Carter, Cayson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded by her son Riley Burtsfield, father John Vitale, brother Johnny Vitale, step father Wayne Soeder and nieces Ruby and Katelyn

Funeral services for Renee will be held Friday, July 23 at 10 AM at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon with visitation on Thursday 5 to 7 PM. Burial will be next to her son in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery #2 in Varna. Memorials can be made to the family and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
