Rita Jean Tarrence, 77, of Varna Illinois, formerly Toluca, left this life and received her new heavenly body on January 4, 2022. She was born in Streator, Illinois on November 27, 1944 to the late Frank and Minnie (Riebschlager) Bianchi, she married Fred J. Tarrence on November 30, 1962 at St. John’s Lutheran in Toluca. Fred preceded her in death on December 11, 2004.
Rita worked at the Toluca Garment Factory for over 20 years. She later worked for seven years at the Post Office in Varna as clerk and assistant postmaster and made the donuts at Casey’s for over five years. Rita was a also member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Varna.
Rita is survived by her four children Kevin (Kris) Tarrence of Varna, Tina (John) Strawn of Laura, Lisa (Steve) Mangold of Lacon, Joe (Kristin) Tarrence of Fort Wayne, Indiana; eight grandchildren: Tyler and Jordan Tarrence; Riley (Mallory) Strawn, Cody (Corinna) Strawn; Adam (Amanda) Mangold, Matthew (Abby) Mangold; and Emma and Avery Tarrence six great grandchildren: TaNyha, ZaNyla and Deon (Strawn), Ezekiel and Brynlee (Mangold); and Maia (Tarrence). She loved being a Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma and often said her children were her greatest accomplishment.
According with family wishes a private graveside service will be held for Rita on Saturday, January 8 at 10:30 AM at St. John’s Cemetery in Toluca. Memorials can be made to the Varna Ambulance and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
